Gail graduated from the Mayo School of Health Related Sciences in 1981. She certified with the IAOM in orthopedic medicine and manual therapy in 1992. In 2006, Gail completed her Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy through Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC). She is an adjunct professor at TTUHSC, and maintains a clinical practice in orthopedic manual therapy with a special interest in chronic pelvic pain in Eugene Oregon.

Amy graduated from the Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise & Sports Science. She received his master’s degree in physical therapy from NAU in 2000. Amy completed the IAOM-US certification in 2004 and completed her Doctorate of Science (ScD) from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2011. Amy and Esteban, own an outpatient physical therapy clinic, Modern Physical Therapy in Kansas City, Missouri.

Esteban graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise & Sports Science. He received his master’s degree in physical therapy from Northern Arizona University in 2000 and completed his IAOM certification in 2004. He completed his Doctorate of Science (ScD) from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2011. Esteban & Amy developed the Spinal Pain Management course they teach across the country.

Jamie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 2000. She received her post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy with an elective track in education from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2016. She became a certified hand therapist in 2010, and obtained her certification through IAOM as a COMT in the upper extremity in 2015. She currently specializes in hand trauma at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, a level I trauma center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jean-Michel graduated in 1985 from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. In 2000 Jean-Michel completed his IAOM certification. He received a MS in Sports Medicine – Exercise Physiology from Texas Tech University (TTUHSC). In 2003, Dr. Brismée received his ScD in Physical Therapy from TTUHSC. He is an Associate Professor of the Doctorate of Science (ScD) Program in Physical Therapy at TTUHSC. He is the director of the IAOM-US Fellowship Program.

Jullie graduated from Texas Tech University Health Science Center (TTUHSC) in Lubbock, Texas with a Bachelors of Physical Therapy in 1995. In 2002, she earned her Masters of Athletic Training. Julie completed her spine certification in 2004 through the IAOM. Julie completed her Doctoral Degree of Physical Therapy in May 2008.  Julie is an employee of University Medical Center in Lubbock and works with Dr. Phil Sizer in an out-patient hospital based facility.

John graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 2001. He became a Certified Leduc Trained Lymphedema Therapist in 2004, a Certified Hand Therapist in 2007 and earned his COMT in 2010. Currently, John works with the Lakeshore Medical Clinic in Milwaukee where he specializes in upper extremity orthopaedic injuries and lymphedema patients. Since 2010 John has been an assistant instructor for the IAOM UE Track.

Pedro graduated in 2008 from University of Chile, Physical Therapy School in Santiago, Chile. Mr. Castex was certified by the IAOM-US in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 2010. He completed the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship program through the IAOM-US in 2012. Currently, he is co-director and instructor of the International Academy of Orthopaedic Medicine of Latin-America (IAOM-LA).

Dale earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Wisconsin Lutheran College in 1996, his Master of Physical Therapy from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2000 and his Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy from TTUHSC in 2009. He currently serves as Assistant Professor & staff Physical Therapist at Concordia University in Wisconsin. He became a COMT of the extremities in 2006 & an OCS in 2012. He is an active contributor to multiple peer reviewed publications and presentations.

John graduated for the University of Minnesota in 1989. He was certified by the IAOM in 1998. John specializes in difficult chronic pain, spinal disorders and Complex Regional Pain syndrome at the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota. John has been a senior editor and contributor for all IAOM publications since 2006, including the IAOM Connection, our eJournal.

Amy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996. After 9 years of general orthopedic and neurological outpatient practice, she began to specialize in hand therapy becoming a Certified Hand Therapist in 2010. She earned her COMT in 2013. Amy works full time for Therapeutic Associates in Bend, OR—a PT owned outpatient clinic. Her caseload is primarily hand and upper extremity with a mixture of post-operative and non-operative conditions. She began as an assistant instructor for IAOM in 2014.

Omer is a native Belgian and works in Austria. He graduated from the Higher Institute for Medical Professions, Belgium in 1975. He is a recognized researcher, practitioner, author and teacher specializing in orthopedic medicine and manual therapy. He continues to treat patients in private practice in Austria & provides consultation services to physicians & PTs. Omer earned his ScD in 2011. He is Managing Director of the IAOM-EUR. www.iaom.de.

Vicente graduated from Physical Therapy School in 1999 from CUR (Caracas-Venezuela) and in 2008 from Universidad de Chile (Santiago-Chile). In 2005 Mr. Mauri obtained his certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy from IAOM-US. He completed his Doctorate of Science (ScD) from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2014. Dr. Mauri is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Master in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Program at Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago de Chile, Chile. He is also a member of the Review Board of the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy and President for the Chilean OMT RIG for the IFOMPT. He is co-director and instructor of the International Academy of Orthopaedic Medicine of Latin-America (IAOM-LA).

Mike McGalliard graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 1997. In 2006, he completed IAOM certification and in 2008 and he earned his Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Mike is now the Physical Therapy Program Director and Chair of the Physical Therapy Department at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. Mike also coordinates the Medical Missions track of the HUPT program.

Robert graduated in 1998 from TTUHSC with a Masters in Physical Therapy and from the ScD Program in Physical Therapy in 2007. He certified with the IAOM-US in 2002 and teaches continuing education courses for physicians, physical therapist, occupational therapist and athletic trainers across the United States. Robert is a Board Member for the Springtown Chamber of Commerce and owns the Moss Rehab Center in Springtown, TX.

Patty graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology and then completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy. She achieved her IAOM-US certification in 1993 and 1995. In 2008 Patty completed her ScD from TTUHSC and earned her Fellowship in manual therapy in 2009. Currently Patty teaches in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at EWU and pursues research related to women’s health conditions.

Mirka graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Laval University in Quebec, 1991. In 1999, she attended the Hand Therapy Fellowship program of TWU and Baylor College of Medicine for her CHT. She completed her Advanced Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy with Hand Therapy Specialty in 2003 at TWU. In 2006, she earned the IAOM-US COMT designation. Mirka is one of the creators and lead instructors of the IAOM-US Hand & Upper Extremity Track.

Theresa is a 2012 graduate from University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Theresa completed the IAOM-US COMT of the upper quadrant in 2015. Valerie graduated with a Degree in Physical Therapy from the UM in MN in 1981. She became an international instructor for the IAOM in 1994; at that time she also received recognition as a specialty instructor in manual therapy education by the German PTA. Valerie is the Founder and current Education Director of the IAOM-US and she instructs IAOM courses in the USA & Europe. She is the Practice Director of Advanced Physical Therapy in Anchorage, Mat-Su Valley and Fairbanks.

Ann graduated from Marquette University in 1994. She became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2002 and completed the IAOM-US certification for the upper quadrant in 2003. In 2007, Ann completed DPT with a specialty in hand and upper quarter rehabilitation from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Ann is the therapy manager at the Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin, located in Appleton, Wisconsin. Ann is one of the creators and lead instructors of the Hand and Upper Extremity Track.

Denise graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in Athletic Training in 1997. She received her certification of athletic training in 1998. In 2002 she graduated from Midwestern University in Illinois with a Masters of Physical Therapy and completed her IAOM-US Fellowship in 2013. Denise works in an outpatient orthopedic clinic in the Chicagoland area. Her interests include: spine, vestibular, concussion, head/facial pain, and chronic pain.

Becky graduated from Louisiana State University with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 1998. She completed her Spine Certification in 2012 and her Extremity Certification in 2017.  She is currently a Fellow candidate in the IAOM Fellowship program.  She is also enrolled in the ScD program at TTUHSC.  She is employed by Melanie Massey Physical Therapy and is Director of the Adult Clinic in West Monroe, LA.

Dustin earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Services degree in 2005, his Master of Physical Therapy in 2007 and his Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2012 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Currently, Dustin is a Therapist with BSA Outpatient Therapy Services in Amarillo, TX. He has completed a Doctoral teaching project: Diagnosis and Management of the Overhead Throwing Athlete: An Investigation of the Shoulder Complex and Kinematic Chain.

Phil graduated in 1985 from UT, Medical Branch in Galveston TX. He received a MEd in exercise science from TTU in 1993. He received a PhD from TTU in 2002. Along with serving as a Senior Clinician in an orthopedic clinic, he is a Professor and Program Director of the Doctorate of Science Program in Physical Therapy, as well as the Director of the Clinical Musculoskeletal Research Laboratory, at TTUHSC. Phil is also on the IAOM Education Committee.

Tanya graduated from University of the Pacific with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1994. She earned her Doctorate of Science from TTUHSC in 2006. Tanya is a senior therapist at Advanced Physical Therapy in Anchorage where she is also a Fellowship mentor. She is the senior editor/contributor for the IAOM Connection.

Tiffany has been a practicing occupational therapist since graduation from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1988. She became a certified hand therapist in 1995 and earned her Master in Business Administration in 2002. She received her post professional doctoral degree in occupational therapy in 2011, and completed IAOM-US certification in orthopedic manual therapy in 2015. She is also a certified ergonomics assessment specialist and a certified functional capacity evaluator. She is a Level IV clinician at California Pacific Medical Center and also teaches dental ergonomics in University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.

Didi has been an instructor for the IAOM-EUR since 1980. Besides her private practice in Antwerp, Belgium, she teaches throughout Europe and the United States. She is co-author of the reference book series Manual Therapy of the Peripheral Joints [German, Dutch]. She has been president of the IAOM-EUR since 2005 when the founder, Dos Winkel, retired.

Megan graduated from Texas Woman’s University in Houston, Texas. Megan was certified by the IAOM-US in Orthopedic Medicine and Manual Therapy in 1995 and American Physical Therapy Association certified in 2003. Megan is the Supervisor in outpatient physical therapy at Abbott Northwestern Hospital / Sister Kenny Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Megan provides expert care to people with disabling conditions after cancer and its treatment.

John earned his BS in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University and his Masters of Science from the University of Arizona in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Biomechanics and Motor Control. He is the former Director of Medical Services for Athletics at the University of Arizona and currently the owner of ProActive Physical Therapy in Tucson. John serves as the Administrative Director for IAOM-US.

Join Our Faculty!

The IAOM-US takes great pride in its leadership position in the continuing education industry. Our faculty members are highly educated and passionate about the mission and philosophy of the IAOM. The first step to complete in pursuit of a faculty position of the IAOM-US is to become a licensed physical therapist. The next step is to become certified through the IAOM-US for the Spine and/or Extremities, depending on which domain you wish to teach.

After certification is completed for at least six Spine and/or Extremities courses, the applicant will e-mail the following to the IAOM-US office at info@iaom-us.com for review by the IAOM-US Education Committee:

  1. Application Letter of Intent
  2. Current IAOM-US membership
  3. Curriculum Vitae
  4. 2 letters of support (from a professional colleague and an employer, either present or former)
  5. Copy of current physical therapy license in the state of residence
  6. Copies of any post-professional certifications, fellowships or other credentials

Once your application is reviewed, within four weeks, the Committee will make a decision about your acceptance. If accepted, you will then be notified by e-mail and guided through the next steps of preparation to accept that role.
