A Complete Clinician’s Approach to Musculoskeletal Management of the Shoulder

Course Description

23 Education Hours:  8 Hours – Online Self Study + 15 Hours – Online Instructor-led Training

The online self-study consists of learning modules that are available to you 24/7; viewing time can be started and stopped as desired. The live portion of this course offers short lectures with extensive hands-on lab for demonstrating and mentoring techniques.

Course content provides an in-depth look at pathoanatomy of the shoulder complex – glenohumeral, sternoclavicular, acromioclavicular – followed by precise practice of related surface anatomy. Participants learn an efficient method of clinical evaluation with interpretation in order to establish a working diagnosis. Identifying the painful structure brings confidence to the clinician and reassurance to the patient.

Special topics include: identifying and matching treatment for specific pain generators involved in anterior, internal and external impingements; differentiating shoulder instabilities with specific plan of care considerations; how to recognize the three different kinds of frozen shoulder and optimal treatment for each; manual therapy for resolving joint and myofascial dysfunction in the shoulder region as perpetuators or causal factors of chronic upper quarter conditions.

Throughout the course, there is an emphasis on problem solving, as well as clinical analysis, synthesis and application via case studies.
