Hip Online Bundle

Course Description

You will receive access to five online courses, equalling 11.92 Contact Hours.

Diagnosis and Management of the Hip and Pubic Symphysis – 8 Contact Hours – understand the differential diagnosis and specific treatment for common hip joint musculoskeletal conditions with this in-depth look at primary and secondary pathoanatomy, biomechanics, basic and specific clinical examination and interpretation, management suggestions and specific approaches to diagnose and treat hip and pelvic-related disorders.

Differential Diagnosis of Hip Pain – 1 Contact Hour – Dr. Haley  Main will go over the most fundamental principles for finding the correct pain generator that is causing your patient’s hip pain so that you can treat them more efficiently and get them better with confidence. There are so many structures and overlapping dermatomes that can make the waters muddy when treating patients with hip pain.  In this course, Dr. Main will teach you how to distinguish between discogenic, facet, SIJ, CFJ, muscular pain, and more

Rapid ID of Hip Pain Generators – 0.42 Contact Hour – This short course is packed with information related to patient history and clinical presentation that guides the examiner to a precise clinical working diagnosis of the 3 most seen musculoskeletal disorders in the hip region: labrum lesions, greater trochanteric pain syndrome, and osteoarthritis. Each pathology is linked with suggested management strategies that match precise treatment to the specific problem.

Dry Needling into the Management of Hip Arthrosis Pain – 1 Contact Hour –  a discussion of current CPG’s and studies for hip arthrosis and their relevance to a specific case study. Participants will explore the principles for dry needling management and will learn to analyze the differential diagnosis involved in the clinical reasoning when targeting the lumbar spine and the hip joint complex. Finally, instructors will share their knowledge and clinical skills applied to a case study with discussion of challenges, complexity, and how to weave dry needling into a comprehensive treatment plan.

Transform your practice with blood flow restriction training – 1.5 Contact Hours – This 90-minute webinar will focus on how BFR works and how you can effectively utilize BFR training in your daily clinical practice with patients of all ages. The webinar will include a BFR training demonstration utilizing the Delphi PTS blood flow restriction device and will focus on how BFR training can safely be used to aid in rehabilitation and recovery.

Objectives and Goals

You will receive access to five online courses, equalling 12.6 Contact Hours.

Diagnosis and Management of the Hip and Pubic Symphysis

  • Given a case study of one of the most common musculoskeletal pathologies of the hip joint and pubic symphysis with consequent clinical dysfunctions, the learner will independently integrate the anatomic, physiologic and biomechanical findings into a differential diagnosis report.
  • Accurately identify at least one common clinical dysfunction of the hip region in 3 different patient scenarios.
  • Accurately identify at least one common clinical dysfunction of the pubic symphysis region in 3 different patient scenarios.
  • Identify 3 effective treatment interventions for acute, recurrent and chronic hip region dysfunctions and related pathologies.
  • Identify 3 effective treatment interventions for acute, recurrent and chronic pubic symphysis region dysfunctions and related pathologies
  • Design a treatment plan for a patient with acute dysfunction of the hip joint.
  • Design a treatment plan for a patient with acute dysfunction of the pubic symphysis.
  • Design a treatment plan for a patient with recurrent or chronic hip joint dysfunctions.
  • Design a treatment plan for a patient with recurrent or chronic pubic symphysis dysfunctions

Differential Diagnosis of Hip Pain

  • Integrate specific methodology for interpreting the clinical examination to reach a precise clinical diagnosis of the Hip.
  • Recognize pain patterns for: CFJ, SIJ, disc, facet, and muscle
  • Recognize the key aspects to successfully perform hip differential diagnosis for groin, buttocks, and lateral hip pain.

Rapid ID of Hip Pain Generators

  • Identify pain patterns specific to the three most common musculoskeletal problems in the hip region
  • Clinically differentiate the most common musculoskeletal pain generators in the hip
  • Confidently perform and/or recommend management strategies for these hip musculoskeletal conditions.

Dry Needling into the Management of Hip Arthrosis Pain

  • Identify potential CPG’s for hip arthrosis
  • Analyze recent studies using dry needling with hip arthrosis
  • Integrate clinical reasoning to identify possible pain generators
  • Create a comprehensive treatment plan with short-and long-term goals and how to include dry needling in that plan
  • Review the role of manual therapies and exercise therapy in management of hip arthrosis

Transform your practice with blood flow restriction training

  • Explain the scientific theory behind BFR training and learn how to safely implement it into your clinical practice
  • Recognize ways in which you can effectively implement BFR in your clinical practice with patients rehabilitating from injury or surgery.
  • Learn how BFR compliments manual therapy treatments to take your clinical results to the next level
