IAOM-US Webinars
1 hour presentation
This webinar will give you a short intro to the science behind the formation and cause of myofascial trigger points, how dry needling can be a very useful tool to use in resolving the normal function of the muscle, and its use for treatment of a typical pelvic patient. I will take you through a real case study and will illustrate a typical course of treatment, integrated with an entire treatment plan, with the use of dry needling treatment for the pelvic and pelvic floor muscles.
1.5 hour presentation
Help your patients find ways to reduce persistent pain by teaching them incremental lifestyle changes.
1.5 hour presentation
Understanding pain neuroscience and being able to recognize the primary pain mechanism will assist a clinician with effective and efficient evaluation and management. More specifically we want a clinician to recognize that persistent pain is very different from acute pain.
1 hour presentation – Pelvic Floor Dysfunction is an umbrella term for several different diagnoses. Physical therapists who are aware of how the pelvic floor is closely related to the spine and hips are better equipped to fully address their patients’ complaints. Pelvic floor physical therapists are able to treat the entire musculoskeletal system and also address pelvic health issues such as bowel, bladder, and sexual dysfunction.
1 hour video about how Laboratory and EMG/NCS Testing are used as additional tools for screening, diagnosing and managing patient health
This 90-minute webinar will focus on how BFR works and how you can effectively utilize BFR training in your daily clinical practice with patients of all ages.
Thoracic imaging can greatly impact how you diagnose and treat your patients with thoracic spine pain.
This case study provides a systematic approach for integrating dry needling into the management of hip arthrosis pain.
One of the aspects of a Master Clinician relies on the ability to make decisions and in the second portion of the presentation will discuss aspects of clinical decision making.
How clinicians “think about thinking” and finally the application of clinical reasoning to a case study. Various decisions in the case study will be reviewed where the learner can self-reflect on their own clinical decisions.
This presentation will address intervertebral disc pathophysiology and degeneration processes and the potential for healing and which positions, movements and life style could help strengthen the disc and preserve its health. Some strategies to limit the effects of spinal stenosis will be discussed as well as in the treatment of people with back pain and nerve root compression syndrome.
Do you love the handouts in your clinic? Do they have your logo/letterhead, large photos, and explain why the exercise is important and how it will help the patient? I’d love to teach you how to make your own professional handouts. Better handouts improve adherence to home programs—which leads to improved results.
Let’s learn how to use a tool you already know to make awesome handouts. I’d love to teach you how to make your own professional handouts using Microsoft Word. Better handouts improve adherence to home programs—which leads to improved results.
Gain an appreciation of the relationship between the cervical spine and thoracic outlet region and sharpen your evaluation skills to optimize treatment outcomes.
Haley Main showcases several considerations for effective and precises differential diagnosis of hip pain generators using an easy to understand systematic approach.
Jackie Doidge describes practice guidelines, clinical pearls, and reviews a case related to integration of dry needling into the care plan for a patient with plantar fasciitis pain. (55 Minutes Webinar)
Dr. Brismee discusses the neural testing and management for the upper quadrant using research-based guidelines for neural tensioning and sliding techniques. He also shares his expertise on how to apply the evidence into the clinical practice to treat patients with spinal potential discogenic, dural or nerve root related conditions, patients with suspected peripheral neural compression/tension conditions and patients with suspected sensitization in chronic stages.
Dr. Brismee discusses the neural testing and management for the lower quadrant using research-based guidelines for neural tensioning and sliding techniques. He also shares his expertise on how to apply the evidence into the clinical practice to treat patients with spinal potential discogenic, dural or nerve root related conditions, patients with suspected peripheral neural compression/tension conditions and patients with suspected sensitization in chronic stages.
In this webinar, Dr. Sherwin explains about temporomandibular joint dysfunction from the general screening to the treatment and self-care strategies that help patients restoring their function and avoiding recurrence of symptoms.
Dr. Azevedo teaches in a simple way the key features, indications and outcomes of lumbar epidural steroid injections. Use this type of explanation when approaching your patients about the need or prescription of an interventional pain management for the lumbar spine.
Dr. Porretto-Loehrke, expert in diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal dysfunctions of the Hand & Upper Extremity, describes detailed differences between anatomic and reverse total shoulder functionality and rehab goals. She also shares her clinical experience on common pitfalls and restrictions commonly seen in the recovery phases.

IASTM uses a bevel edge instrument, which adds shearing stress to soft tissue to facilitate and enhance the body’s healing response. The ability to focus a technical force along a small contact surface to your patient’s target tissue, and do so with a relatively high level of comfort for both the patient and treating therapist is one of the best features of this technique.
